This entails the second part of my experiences at MacWorld 2008. There were two venues in which to find odd gizmos and gadgets. Luckily there was no spandex, at least that I found anyway. Before I continue my reporting of interesting products, I have to mention the ambiance of the convention itself. Some vendors were crammed together while others had large areas with plush carpet laid out on top of the existing floor. Any ploy and every ploy was used from raffles to sticker campaigns. Unlike the old E3 though, there were little to no booth babes. This is Apple after all.

This is my second time at Macworld, the Mac version of E3, or at least that’s what I’m going to call it whether it is or not. Those Mac bigwigs get to unveil all of their latest gadgets and versions of things, and small fry third party developers get a chance to get their Mac supported software into the hands of the consumers.

We might as well get this out of the way because it was the most boring part in my adventure at MacWorld, that and the pain in my back from playing basketball on Monday. Apple released their MacBook Air. This thing is really sleek—I have to give it that. The computer as you can find on Apple’s website, comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB memory, and options of an 80 GB 4200rpm or a 64GB solid-state drive. It’s thin, it’s light, and crap.

So today is a big news day for GDNK Gaming, a first of many we hope.

First thing's first...

Promotions

We have big news as far as promotions go. For the longest time, your fair leadership here at GDNK have consisted of the same 5 people, Me (Echelon), Uber, Rocinante, Fuzzy and M. However, we feel that its time to bring up some new blood to help keep things engaging and moving forward. Keeping GDNK progressing into the future is key for long term existence and growth.

We thought about it, considering each and every person then deciding what we were looking for in our proposed addition. After talking it over, we've decided that we'll be bringing JuiceGrenade and Maimer up to the leadership roles. Rest assured that this was a well thought out decision, and we hope you trust in it as much as we do.

Hierarchy

To help along our present endeavors, but more so our future endeavors, we will be putting in place a hierarchy system within each branch we have open and decide to open in the future. In doing so we hope that we can make each branch more self-sustaining in the absence of our core players, and making each branch longer lasting when staff changes take place within the branch.

Each branch will have a default hierachy based on a

Leader>Second in Command>Grunt Admins>Members

layout, but any additional ranks can be added and will be left up to the leader of said branch as to how they change things. Upon the resignation of a member the chain of command will feed up another to take his/her place and so on.
