Fallout 3: This Week's Late Review

Posted by Echelon on 02/04/09 at 15:26

GK puts his mind to writing another "late" review of one of the recent smash video game hits as he reviews Bethesda's masterpiece sandbox "Fallout 3":

"There are a few quick disclaimers I should get out of the way. First, I am rating the game based on the condition of the game at release, no patching. Second, I will undoubtedly have to compare this game to Oblivion for obvious reasons. Third, I will try my best not to give spoilers.

Fallout 3 begins with birth, and slowly allows for the player to develop their character before being thrust into the harsh world of what is left of the United States, referred to now as the Wasteland. Customization of your character lies in choosing race, and facial options. You won't be able to change height or body type - there would be something wrong with a fat person in this post apocalyptic world. Faces and females are for the most part fugly, so be prepared to see the beauty on the inside of other characters. Bethesda needs to take some cues from Half-Life 2's Alex on how to balance real-life and beauty."

A Late Review of: Mass Effect

Posted by Echelon on 02/02/09 at 15:17

What GDNK's GreenKnight thinks of the Sci-Fi RPG:

"As I was pre-warned, if you enjoyed Knights of the Old Republic (2003), then you would like this game. At first the similarities turned me off (I had spent seventy hours playing the first KOTOR, I didn't want simply a re-hash). I was pleasantly surprised by the differences.

If I were reviewing Mass Effect solely for its storyline and for the wealth of immersion and intergalactic depth, the game would receive a 10 out of 10. However, it is a game, and it has some flaws, some more egregious than others."

MacWorld: Conference and Expo PART II

Posted by greenknight0078 on 01/17/08 at 04:07

MacWorld PART II
Conference and Expo

This entails the second part of my experiences at MacWorld 2008. There were two venues in which to find odd gizmos and gadgets. Luckily there was no spandex, at least that I found anyway. Before I continue my reporting of interesting products, I have to mention the ambiance of the convention itself. Some vendors were crammed together while others had large areas with plush carpet laid out on top of the existing floor. Any ploy and every ploy was used from raffles to sticker campaigns. Unlike the old E3 though, there were little to no booth babes. This is Apple after all.
